Diode Lasers

  • The LDS-2  is a PC mount, three pin electrical socket that fits both 5.6mm and 9mm diameter base diodes. The socket accepts laser diodes with wire leads 24 to 26 gauge, 0.016 to 0.020 inches (0.41 to 0.51 mm) diameter. The maximum recommended current is 3 Amps.     The LDA-1 is a brass adapter that converts a 5.6mm diameter base laser diode into a 9mm diameter base laser diode. It also places the emitter at the correct height. Note: The laser diode is a press fit into the adapter.
  • The Mitsubishi ML720J11S-03 are DFB (Distributed Feedback) laser diodes emitting light beam with emission wavelength around 1310 nm. They are well suited for light source in long distance digital transmission systems. They are hermetically sealed devices with the photo diode for optical output monitoring.  These are new diodes, individually characterized, in factory envelopes.   • The Samsung SLD63518262 is a InGaAlP laser diode with quantum well structure. It has a built in photo diode for monitoring the laser output for use in automatic power control (APC) circuits. The common case pin is laser diode cathode and photo diode anode. Specifications: Output Power: 5.0mW typical, 7.0mW maximum Wavelength: 637nm typical, 645nm maximum. It was the first commercially available visible laser diode with a wavelength of 670nm. It has a built in photo diode for monitoring the laser output for use in automatic power control (APC) circuits.     The LDD-10 is a laser diode power supply that provides automatic current control (ACC) regulation. It comes as an unassembled kit, 7 parts + PC board and instructions. Requires basic soldering and electronic skills. A multimeter, wire, and power source, along with your laser diode & heatsink is also needed for set-up.   • The LDC-3 is a universal collimating lens system that fits 5.6mm diameter base diodes. The laser diode press fits in the back of the lens assembly. The lens can be adjusted with a small spanner wrench or flat blade screwdriver.   • The LDC-LP-A390 is a clone of the Kodak A390 glass collimating lens, but with an AR coating optimized for 405nm and the new green output laser diodes. These are new lenses manufactured by LightPath Technologies.
  • The LDC-13 is a universal collimating lens system that fits 9mm diameter base diodes. This housing requires the diode be glued or potted inside the unit. It requires a large screwdriver or spanner to focus the lens which simply screws in place. Specifications: Lens type: single element Acrylic, AR coated. Focal length: .242", 6.14mm.
